“Deep In The Caves” is a short poem about anxiety, depression and the space in between.

Deep In The Caves

It’s like falling but still feeling everything around you
It’s like going deeper and deeper down
In a night dark cave where the air becomes thinner and thinner
You want to throw up and cut your veins open,
so that all that’s inside gets out
And leaves you as the empty shell you feel like
It’s disgusting yet relieving
If you could just pop the swollen balloon in your chest,
everything would be fine
If you could just see and touch that pain
it would be alright
But you can’t
That’s what it’s like.
